/ About Cities Unseen.

Cities Unseen is a quiet archive of the places we pass through and the stories they whisper.

“The city does not tell its past, but contains it like the lines of a hand...”

— Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities

Born from a love of cities, streets, landscapes, species, and traces they leave behind, Cities Unseen weaves together photos, stories, and design — like a travel journal.

But you won’t find tourist checklists here.

You’ll come across old stairwells with chipped paint, overheard conversations in cafés, small gardens growing between concrete, and imagined maps of places that don’t exist — all captured while walking, observing, remembering.

Each piece — I don't even know what it could be — carries the imprint of a place, a moment, a story half-told.

/ About Evie.

I’m Evie —
Urban planner by training,
Photographer and illustrator by heart,
Adventurer by instinct.

Banyuwangi,

Indonesia

I wander across continents, drawn to the textures of cities.

I listen to the way a place breathes, through walls, trees, people, stray cats, and translate those encounters into stories, images, feelings.

I love learning how different places live, speak, and dream.

I’m always listening — to city rhythms, to languages. I work in both Chinese and English, and speak conversational German and Japanese.

Cities Unseen is my way of mapping the invisible.

I wanted to make something soft, small, and honest, something that speaks without shouting.

If you’ve ever felt attached to a city you couldn’t explain, or watched the sky from a foreign balcony and suddenly felt like writing — then you already know what I’m trying to say.

A city, a story, a collaboration, or simply a hello.
